The project will design and test low-impact tools at three sites improving the accuracy of underground mapping and reducing drilling risks. By using advanced tools like AI and machine learning, URGENT hopes to lower exploration costs, increase drilling success, and extend the life of geothermal plants while reducing seismic risk.
GeoHEAT is transforming geothermal exploration by cutting pre-drilling costs, improving risk quantification, and maximising what we learn from each exploration well. Combining advanced surface imaging, novel downhole georadar, microseismic monitoring and digital rock physics, GeoHEAT delivers a high-resolution understanding of the subsurface for optimal well placement and performance prediction.
The FindHeat project develops a novel, conceptual model-based geothermal exploration workflow. A modular toolkit, the FindHeat platform, will provide innovative software tools and geophysical exploration techniques at significantly lower costs than the state-of-the-art.
